A Buyer’s Checklist Before Approving Packaging Samples
Check structure before decoration
Confirm internal dimensions, fit, opening direction, closure and assembly method with the actual product whenever possible. A visually accurate sample still needs to perform through packing and delivery.
Review artwork and finishing together
Check text, barcodes, color references, registration and the location of special finishes. Foil, embossing, lamination and varnish should be assessed as part of the complete design rather than in isolation.
Record the approved standard
Keep a signed sample, approved artwork and written specification aligned. Clear records reduce ambiguity when production starts and provide a shared reference for inspection.
